Very famous and old ōnsen, where sandbathing is an option nobody should miss out on!

The atmosphere is very chill and authentic. For tourist, the staff will try to explain everything to you in English and hand you a manual, so you know how to use the sandbath and the ōnsen.

One of the must see places in #Beppu.

lt was the oldest #onsen l have ever visited. The building architecture was amazing! The water was good and the air ventilation is amazing. However, women bath was quite small in compare to building space. lt was designed very traditional no dedicated space for cleaning yourself before entering the bath. You should take water from the pool and clean yourself before you enter. There was no amenity, so you should bring your own shampoo, body soap and towel. Hair dryers are available by 100 Yen charge of usage fee.

A rare sand bath experience!

This is a rare facility where you can enjoy a sand bath. I changed at the dressing room and went to the sandpit. The staff carefully poured the sand over me, and my whole body felt warm. After the sand bath, there is a simple washing area where you can wash yourself. Regular bathing is available, but few people used it. Sand baths are popular so wait a little.
