Yanagi-yu is the most intimate of Kinosaki Onsen’s seven public bathhouses, cherished for its serene ambiance and traditional charm. Named after the willow trees ("yanagi" in Japanese) that grace the adjacent street, this bathhouse is steeped in local legend, believed to promote fertility and ensure safe childbirth for women.
The bathhouse features a rustic wooden interior, with walls and baths crafted from cypress, offering a warm and relaxing experience. A small street-side footbath (ashiyu) is also available next to the entrance for those seeking a brief respite.
