Kamiyu Public Bathhouse

Kamiyu Public Bathhouse is a traditional, unmanned onsen located in the heart of Zao Onsen, Yamagata Prefecture. Known as the "upper bath house," it is one of three historic public baths in the area, alongside Shimoyu and Kawarayu.

Kamiyu offers a simple, gender-separated bathing experience, reflecting the authentic charm of Japanese communal bathing culture. The bathhouse features strongly acidic sulfur-rich waters, renowned for their skin-beautifying properties.
